Hello SCS families! This is Tanisha Davis, your PTSA President! First, thank you to all of the families that attended the PTSA meeting this past Thursday. We sincerely appreciate your attendance.
Next, the 2nd Annual SCS Fall Carnival is on Sunday, November 3rd from 2 to 5 pm. A Carnival Committee meeting is tomorrow, Thursday, September 19th at 5:00pm in the Cybrary. If you are not able to attend but would like to be a part of the committee, please email ptsa4scs@gmail.com to let us know.
Third, we need parent, teacher and student volunteers in order to have a successful carnival. Please consider signing up for a shift by visiting our website, scsptsa.wordpress.com. There is a link under the volunteer tab, to sign up for shifts.
Fourth, our next Healthy Eating Night is Thursday, October 17th at 6pm in the SCS Cafeteria. Check our website and social media for the link to RSVP!
Last, but certainly not least, we are participating in this year’s PTA Reflections Program. This is a national program for all students. Using their imagination, students reflect on this year’s theme, Look Within, and create original works of art in one or more of the following six categories: Film Production, Dance Choreography, Literature, Music Composition, Photography and Visual Arts. Information and entry forms are being sent home with students this week. Additional forms are also available in the front office. All entries are due to the PTSA by Tuesday, November 12th at 2pm. All participants will celebrate and share their work in a gallery at SCS on Friday, November 15th at 6pm. Additionally, your student’s work may be featured at the regional, state and/or national level! This is such an exciting opportunity to showcase the talent of our students. Fall break is a great time to start on those entries!
