“I Will Change the World By…”

2021-2022 School for Creative Studies Reflections Arts Contest

Calling all Artists!

The National PTA Reflections contest wants you to create and explain how YOU will change the world!

The National PTA Reflections program encourages students of all ages and abilities to explore and be involved in the arts. Students are recognized each year for their artistic ingenuity to bring the theme to life in a way that is personally meaningful. This year’s theme is “I Will Change the World By…”.

Students submit their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts, and Special Artist

Just turn in your artwork and entry form, which includes your artist statement, by 11:59pm on December 10, 2021. Awards will be given out.

All submissions must be submitted electronically to:
reflectionsdurhamcouncilpta@gmail.com.

We know that not all students are on the same schedule and we encourage students to turn their work in early.

All entries must be done by individual students and cannot be replications.

Each entry must contain a title and all entries must include an artist statement.

The artist statement communicates what inspired the work, how it relates to the theme, and the content of the work. The statement must include at least 10 words and not exceed 100 words. The artist statement is worth 40 out of 100 points and is just as important as the artwork.

Only new pieces of artwork inspired by the current year’s theme may be submitted.

Each entry must be the original work of one student only. An adult may not alter the creative integrity of a student’s work and help from an adult or collaboration with other students is not allowed.
